Paver 16x24

One 16x24 paver covers 2.67 sq ft, so roughly 38 pieces make 100 sq ft. Most people meet this size as the big piece in a French Pattern set; on its own it is a mid-size rectangle with a 2:3 proportion that looks less rigid than 12x24 in running bond and less heavy than 24x36. A lot of pool decks are laid entirely in 16x24 running bond with the long side parallel to the pool, then trimmed to the coping.

Using 16x24 with the pattern set and with coping

Because it belongs to the 8" module family, 16x24 can be added to a French Pattern order to shift the pattern toward larger pieces, or laid as a plain field with 16x16 squares in a two-piece modular. The matching 16x24 pool coping is one of the deeper coping formats: with the 16" side over the water, the deck joints continue straight across the coping, and the extra depth gives a wider place to sit or step in. Limestone is well represented here; Lymra limestone in 16x24 makes a pale, uniform deck that suits a modern rectangular pool.

Thickness

The 1-1/4" pieces are right for decks and patios set on a compacted base or in mortar over concrete. The 2" pieces are what you want for a driveway, a golf-cart path or a walkway that sees equipment during construction. Order coping and pavers in the same thickness and finish.
