Wall Caps

Everything in this collection is the same format: a 24" wide, 72" long, 2" thick slab with an eased (slightly rounded) edge on all sides. We list it as a tread/cap because that is how it gets used: cut down to cap a seat wall, a retaining wall, a pier or an outdoor kitchen counter, or left full width as a step tread. The same piece appears in the 24x72 coping size collection for pool applications and in wall cladding for vertical work.

Cutting a 24x72 slab to cap a wall

Most block or CMU seat walls are 8" to 16" wide. A 24x72 slab rip-cut down the middle gives two 12x72 caps with one factory eased edge each and one fresh-cut edge; for a 12" wall with a 1" overhang on both sides, that works out neatly. A 16" wall takes a 18" cap, which leaves a 6" offcut. Because the slabs are 2" thick, they read as a substantial cap rather than a thin veneer, and the eased edge is comfortable to sit on. Plan cuts so factory edges face the exposed side and cut edges meet at joints.

Colors and finishes

The marble caps come in Ibiza White, Corsica Cream, Bursa White, Ice White, Tundra Grey, Diane Royal and Ocean Blue, in sandblasted or leather finish. The travertine caps cover Ivory, Walnut, Noce, Silver, Silver Alaska, Silver River and Country Classic. Handling and ordering

A 2" slab this size is heavy; two people and a set of suction cups or a slab clamp are the minimum for placing one. Caps ship flat on pallets by LTL freight, and the product page shows pieces per pallet and pallet weight. Count linear feet of wall, divide by six, and add one extra slab per ten for cuts and breakage.
