Diane Royal Marble Pool Decks: Pavers Plus Coping

Diane Royal is a beige marble with a soft cream-to-tan ground and thin, darker veins that meander across each piece without dominating it. Two finishes are offered: leather, which brushes the face to a low-sheen ripple with square edges, and sandblasted, which gives a finer, more uniform texture with the most wet traction. A few tumbled pieces exist as well. As a dense marble it takes fewer stains than travertine. It sits in our beige family and works with tan brick, white trim and both blue and gray pool interiors. Pool-deck combinations that work

The advantage of Diane Royal is that the coping and the field come from the same stone in the same finish, so the edge and the deck match. Three combinations cover most pools. Freeform residential pool: 2" 12x24 bullnose coping with 1-1/4" 16x24 pavers in a running bond; the bullnose follows curves cleanly and the 16x24 field cuts well against them. For a rectangular pool with straight runs: 2" 16x24 eased-edge coping with 24x24 or 24x36 pavers, keeping the coping and paver joints aligned for a tailored look. For a raised spa or long straight edges: 24x36 or 16x48 coping with a matching leather paver field, and the 2" 24x72 treads for steps and wall tops. Choosing profile, finish and thickness

Match the finish across coping and pavers; leather on the coping and sandblasted on the deck is possible but visible. Sandblasted is the safer choice for a deck where children run wet, and leather is the choice where a smoother, more finished surface matters. Seal Diane Royal after installation and clean with pH-neutral products, since marble etches from acids. How much Diane Royal coping and paver do I need?
