Paver 24x24

A 24x24 paver covers 4 sq ft, so 25 pieces make 100 sq ft, and the count is easy to remember on site. What sets this size apart from the others is the range of materials: it is the only paver format here that comes in three thicknesses. Natural stone is cut at 1-1/4" and 2", and the through-body porcelain pavers are 3/4" (20 mm), rectified, with a matte face. Porcelain 24x24 is the standard size for pedestal-mounted rooftop decks and for dry-laid patios where a frost-proof, never-sealed surface matters.

Layouts for a 2-foot square

Stack bond is the default: straight joints in both directions, a modern look, and it suits porcelain's tight rectified edges. Running bond with a 12" offset softens the grid. For a modular pattern, the 24" module lets you drop in 12x24 and 12x12 pieces without cuts. Set as stepping slabs in turf or gravel, 24x24 is the smallest size that gives a full footstep with margin. Because a 2" natural stone piece at this size is heavy, plan on two people for placement.

Coping and stone choices

There is no 24x24 coping, so the usual pairing is 12x24 coping, which lines up with every deck joint, or 24x36 coping for a deeper edge.
