Bursa White marble for pool coping and paving
Bursa White comes from the marble belt south of Bursa, and it is the softest-looking of the three white marbles we carry. The background is a milky white with light grey shading that drifts across the piece rather than forming distinct veins. It has a little more warmth than Ice White and less clouding than Ibiza White, so it sits comfortably next to cream stucco, limestone walls and warm wood decking where a stark white would look cold. This is a proper marble with a tight grain, which is why it can be finished leather or sandblasted without the pitting you get in travertine.
What you can order
Unlike some of the other marbles, everything in Bursa White is leather or sandblasted; there are no tumbled pieces. Coping is the largest group at 46 products: bullnose in the widest range of sizes, eased edge close behind, and four remodel options. Coping sizes are 4x9, 6x12, 12x12, 12x24, 14x24, 16x24, 24x36 and 16x48. Pavers come in 12x12, 16x16, 12x24, 16x24, 24x24, 24x36, 24x48 and 36x36 at 1-1/4" or 2". The 2" thick 24x72 tread handles step treads and seat wall caps and can be cut down for an outdoor kitchen counter.
Coping and paver pairings
For a rectangular pool with a 24x24 or 24x36 field, 12x24 eased edge is the clean match, and 14x24 gives a slightly deeper overhang. Freeform pools take 6x12 bullnose around the curves. If you are running 16x24 pavers in a staggered bond, 16x24 coping repeats the module. Steps around a raised spa are simplest with the 24x72 tread cut to length. The coping size guide has layout sketches for each pool shape.
Similar stones to compare
Put Bursa White next to Ibiza White if you want a whiter, brighter deck, or next to Diane Royal if you want to move toward beige. It is listed with the rest of the light stones on the ivory color page. Because it is a marble, it needs a penetrating sealer after installation; the sealing explainer covers marble pavers as well as travertine. For a full deck, the pavers collection lets you filter every white stone by size.
Frequently asked questions
How does Bursa White differ from Ibiza White and Ice White?
All three are white Turkish marbles. Bursa White is the softest and warmest, with diffuse grey shading. Ibiza White is brighter with more visible clouding. Ice White is the coolest, with fine bluish-grey veins. Seen alone each looks white; seen together the warmth difference is obvious, so sample them side by side.
Is Bursa White available tumbled?
No. Every Bursa White product in this collection is leather or sandblasted. If you want a tumbled edge on a white stone, look at the small-format tumbled pieces in the Ibiza White or Ice White collections, or at tumbled ivory travertine, which has a softer, more rustic look.
Which finish hides dirt better?
Sandblasted. The matte, slightly textured surface diffuses light, so dust, pollen and dried water spots show less than on the leather finish. Leather has a low sheen that makes marks more visible but is easier to wipe down on coping and counters. A sealer helps both finishes.
Can I order just coping without pavers?
Yes. Coping is sold per piece as well as per pallet, so you can order the linear feet you need for a remodel or a coping-only replacement. Pavers are sold by the pallet. Ask for a quote if you need a specific piece count or a mix of sizes.
