Country Classic Travertine

Country Classic is a blend rather than a single tone. Each tumbled piece carries cream, tan and light brown in different proportions, so a deck laid from several crates has more variation than Ivory or Noce and a warmer, more rustic look. It is the travertine to choose if you want the deck to look like it has been there a while, or if you need to hide dirt, pollen and hard-water marks on a busy family pool. It also bridges colors well: a Country Classic field works with either Ivory or Walnut coping because both tones are already in the stone.

Formats in the collection

Coping is 23 of the 40 products: bullnose and eased edge in 4x9, 6x12, 12x12, 12x24, 14x24, 16x24, 24x36 and 16x48, plus two remodel drop-face profiles. Pavers are tumbled in 12x12, 16x16, 12x24, 16x24, 24x24, 24x36, 24x48 and 36x36 at 1-1/4" or 2". One 24x72 tread at 2" is available for step treads and wall caps. Layout advice for a blended stone

Because the color moves piece to piece, the layout matters more than with an even stone. Smaller formats such as 12x12 and 16x16 in a running bond or a mixed-size modular pattern show the blend best; a large 36x36 slab can look patchy if two adjacent pieces are far apart in tone. Open at least three crates, dry-lay, and shuffle. Coping follows the same rule: 6x12 bullnose blends more easily than 24x36 because each piece is small. For a straight-edged pool, 12x24 eased edge coping with 16x16 pavers is a good balance of scale.
