Natural Stone Pavers & Pool Coping Supplier — Northern Virginia, DC & Maryland
Stonorama is based in Chantilly, Virginia. If your project is in Northern Virginia, Washington, DC or Maryland, you are buying from a quarry-direct importer in your own backyard: travertine, marble, limestone and porcelain pavers and pool coping, sold by the pallet, priced per square foot, and delivered to the job site.
Why buy natural stone locally in the DC area
Most online stone suppliers ship from Florida or Texas. Stonorama is based in the Dulles corridor, which changes three things for a Northern Virginia, DC or Maryland project:
- Shorter freight runs. A pallet moving from Chantilly to Fairfax, Loudoun, Arlington, Montgomery or Prince George's County is a regional LTL delivery, not a cross-country one. That means less handling, less breakage risk and a smaller freight line on your quote.
- Stone chosen for a freeze–thaw climate. The DC area gets real winters. We stock 2" thick pavers rated for driveways and freeze–thaw cycles, tumbled travertine and limestone that stay slip-resistant when wet, and we can tell you which colors and finishes hold up here because we live with the same weather.
- A phone number that reaches the people who sourced the stone. Call or text and you get someone who can quote a pallet count, confirm a lot's color range and advise on coping profiles for your pool contractor — not a call center.

What DC-area projects usually order
- Pool coping — bullnose and eased-edge travertine and marble in 12x24 and 16x24, matched to the deck pavers. See the bullnose vs. eased edge guide.
- Pool deck packages — coordinated pavers and coping from the same quarry lot so colors match.
- French pattern travertine — the most-requested patio layout in Fairfax and Montgomery County backyards.
- 2" driveway and walkway pavers — the thickness that handles vehicles and winter.
- Outdoor porcelain pavers — frost-proof, never needs sealing; popular on rooftop decks and modern builds in DC and Arlington.
- Wall caps and ledger stone for retaining walls, seat walls and outdoor kitchens.
How delivery works
Stone ships on pallets by LTL freight to the curb at your address. The driver needs room for a truck and either a liftgate (which we arrange) or a forklift on site. Typical lead time is 7–10 business days from order; local runs are often quicker. If your site is a townhouse alley, a steep drive or a gated community, note it on the quote form and we will plan for it rather than have a driver turn around. Contractors placing multiple pallets for one project should call so we can consolidate and price the freight once. Ask about local delivery and pickup options when you call.
Samples first
Stone shifts color between a screen and a backyard at 4 pm. Order a sample ($100, shipped free) or, if you have a live project, tell us about it in the quote form and we will discuss sample options. Contractors and designers working on several jobs at once can call to set up a trade account.
Frequently asked questions
Does travertine survive Northern Virginia winters?
Yes, when you choose the right stone and install it correctly. Dense, tumbled travertine and limestone on a properly drained base handle freeze–thaw cycles well; 2" thickness adds margin for driveways. Sealing helps in our wet springs. See which pavers hold up in freeze–thaw climates.
Do you sell to homeowners, or only contractors?
Both. Homeowners buy directly by the pallet; contractors, pool builders and landscape architects get project pricing on volume. Either way you are buying quarry-direct.
How much stone do I need?
Measure the area in square feet, add 10% for cuts and breakage (15% for French pattern or curved pool decks), and divide by the pallet coverage shown on each product page. The square-footage guide walks through it.
Can I see the stone before ordering a full pallet?
Order a sample online, or call us in Chantilly — we are happy to talk through colors and finishes for your project.
Do you deliver into Washington, DC?
Yes. DC deliveries need a little planning for street access and parking; tell us the address and we will match the truck to the site.
Ready to price your project?
Send us the square footage, the stone you are considering and the delivery address, and we will return a delivered price.
