Autumn Blend Travertine

Autumn Blend is not a single color of travertine but a deliberate mix. Each pallet carries pieces that lean cream, pieces that lean honey gold, and pieces with the darker brown and rust tones of Walnut travertine, tumbled so the edges are rounded and the surface grips wet feet. The effect is closer to an old courtyard than a uniform deck, which is why it is filed under our multi and patterned colors rather than beige. It pairs naturally with red brick, cedar, stacked stone walls and tan stucco; against a stark white modern house the warm tones can fight the architecture.

Formats in this collection

The six pavers are all tumbled and cover 6x12, 12x24, 16x24, 16x16 and 24x24, with the 16x24 and 12x24 sizes carrying the most options. Pool coping is offered in bullnose and eased edge, mostly in 6x12, 12x24 and 16x24 with a 14x24 also listed, in both 1-1/4" and 2" thickness. There is no tread or wall cap in Autumn Blend; if you need step treads for this deck, the 2" 24x36 or 16x48 coping pieces from the pool coping range in Walnut or Noce are the closest tone match.

Laying a blended stone well

The single most important step is to pull from three or four crates at once while laying so the light and dark pieces scatter instead of clustering. Working through one crate at a time leaves a cream patch next to a rust patch. Autumn Blend also looks best in a mixed-size ashlar rather than a straight grid, because the size variation and the color variation reinforce each other; the French pattern guide shows layouts you can adapt using the 6x12, 12x24 and 16x24 pieces here. For coping, the bullnose profile softens the mix of tones at the water edge, and a 2" thickness gives a more substantial look on a raised spa wall. Autumn Blend is a travertine and should be sealed; a color-enhancing sealer deepens the golds and rusts, while a natural-look sealer keeps the lighter pieces closer to their dry color.
