Ivory Travertine

Ivory is the light travertine most people picture when they say travertine pool deck. The color runs from cream to pale beige with little variation between pieces, and the tumbled finish leaves a matte, slightly pitted surface with rounded edges. Being travertine rather than marble, it is porous and stays noticeably cooler underfoot in sun, which is the main reason it dominates pool decks in the Southeast and Southwest. The pits are part of the stone; on a paver they are left open, and on coping they help drain splash.

This is the full Ivory range. Coping: bullnose and eased edge in 4x9, 6x12, 12x12, 12x24, 14x24, 16x24, 24x36 and 16x48, plus two remodel profiles. Pavers: 12x12, 16x16, 12x24, 16x24, 18x36, 24x24, 24x36, 24x48 and 36x36, all tumbled, in 1-1/4" and 2". One 24x72 tread at 2" covers steps and seat walls. Coping and paver combinations

• Freeform pool: 6x12 or 4x9 bullnose around the curve, 16x24 pavers or French pattern in the field.
• Rectangular pool: 12x24 or 16x24 eased edge with 16x24 pavers in a one-third offset.
• Large modern deck: 24x36 coping with 24x36 or 24x48 pavers stacked.
• Remodel: drop-face coping over the existing beam, new field in the same size as the old one.
