MSI Travertine & Marble Names: Stonorama Equivalents

Most of the travertine and marble sold for pool decks in the United States comes out of the same quarry regions of Turkey. Distributors give the stones their own trade names — MSI's Tuscany Ivory, Atlantic Blue or Diana Royal, for example — and once you know a stone by that name it is hard to find it anywhere else. This page maps the names you'll see at MSI, SiteOne and the yards they supply to the stones Stonorama imports directly, so you can keep the look you chose even if your local branch no longer carries it.

How to read the table. "Close match" means the same stone type from the same region, sold under a different trade name — in our experience a pallet from us reads as the material you were shown. "Similar" means the color and character are close but the stone may come from a different quarry or lot. Either way, order a sample of our color and compare it in daylight against what you were shown before buying a pallet. Natural stone varies pallet to pallet whoever sells it, and a sample is the only reliable check.

Travertine

Marble

Aegean Pearl (MSI) Crema Pearl / Diane Royal Similar Neutral beige marble with soft veining. Crema Pearl is the closer tone; Diane Royal is lighter.

Limestone

Not carried in comparable stone: MSI's granite (Gray Mist, White Mist), sandstone and bluestone (Mountain Bluestone, Nova Gray), Cosmic Black marble, and the Caribbean Blue and Mystic Black limestones. Order a sample first

Whatever the table says, buy a sample of our color before you buy a pallet. Put it next to the distributor sample or the installed stone, outdoors, at the time of day the deck gets used. If it is not close enough, tell us what is off — lighter, warmer, more veining — and we will suggest the next candidate.

What is different when you buy the stone from us

  • Thickness. Distributor natural stone pavers are generally 3 cm (1-1/4") only, with 5 cm reserved for coping. We cut most colors as 2" pavers as well, which is what a driveway or a sand-set deck in a freeze-thaw climate should get.
  • Sizes. Where a distributor lists a color in 24x24 and a pattern kit, we run it from 6x12 through 24x48 and 36x36, plus French pattern — the same four-piece module sold elsewhere as a "Versailles pattern" kit.
  • Coping to match. Bullnose, eased edge and remodel coping in the same stone, in nine sizes, so the deck and the edge come from the same run.

Matching stone you already have

If you are extending or repairing a deck laid with one of these names, the match has to be made against the installed stone, not the catalog photo. Send us a clear daylight photo and, if possible, a loose piece, and order a sample of the candidate; travertine and marble shift between lots, so we will tell you honestly whether the current lot is close enough. Frequently asked questions

Is Stonorama's Ivory the same as MSI Tuscany Ivory?

It is a close match — the same type of pale Turkish travertine, tumbled, sold under a different trade name. Lots vary with any supplier, so order a sample of our Ivory and compare it against what you were shown before ordering a pallet.

Is Atlantic Blue the same as Ocean Blue?

They are widely treated as two trade names for the same blue-gray Turkish marble, so our Ocean Blue is a close match. We sell it in pavers, coping and treads; order a sample to confirm the shade against the piece you saw.

My SiteOne branch stopped carrying the color I picked. Can I get it here?

Very likely. SiteOne branches sell distributor lines, and most of the natural stone names on their shelves appear in the tables above. Find the row, order a sample of our equivalent, and request a quote for delivery to your job site anywhere in the US.

Can I buy a few pieces to finish a job started with another supplier's stone?

We sell by the pallet, so small top-ups are not always practical, but call us — for repairs and extensions we can often advise on the closest current lot and the minimum that makes freight sensible.

Are these products made by MSI?

No. Stonorama imports its own stone directly from quarries. MSI, Tuscany and Arterra are trademarks of M S International, Inc., and SiteOne is a trademark of SiteOne Landscape Supply; they are named here only to identify comparable stone types. Stonorama is not affiliated with either company.
