Multi / Patterned

This family exists for stones that do not sit in a single color box. Some carry several colors in one piece; others have a strong vein or grain that reads as pattern from a distance. All 34 products are pavers (22) or pool coping (12), so a full deck or patio can be built from one of these stones. They come from the travertine, limestone and basalt lines.

The four stones

Autumn Blend travertine (18 products) is a mix of ivory, gold, rust and walnut tones across a pallet, tumbled, in pavers and bullnose or eased-edge coping. It is the stone for a Mediterranean or rustic deck where variation is the point. Pistachio limestone (8) is a soft gray-green with light mottling, leather finished, which pairs well with wood decking and gray house colors. Serpeggiante limestone (7) has a straight, wavy vein running the length of each piece, also leather finished; laid all in one direction it produces a striped field, laid randomly it looks like flowing water. The single black basalt paver is brushed and included here for its speckled, mixed-mineral surface.

Sizes and layout tips

Most pieces are 16x24, 12x24 and 6x12, with some 24x24, 16x16 and a few 18x36. Autumn Blend is the one stone in this family that works in a mixed-size pattern, and pallets should be pulled from several boxes at once so the colors spread evenly across the deck. Serpeggiante is best in a single size laid in one direction; a 16x24 running bond shows the vein well. Pistachio works in any grid. Ordering patterned stone

Variegated stone varies more from lot to lot than a uniform color does, so order all pallets for a job at the same time and request samples that show the range, not one piece. Add 15 percent overage on Autumn Blend so you can cull pieces that fall outside the blend you want.
