Beige Pavers

Beige is the middle ground between ivory and the darker browns: warm enough to soften glare off a pool, light enough to stay cool underfoot. This page is the paver formats only. Telling the beige stones apart

The practical split is travertine versus limestone. Travertine is pitted and tumbled, with visible variation piece to piece, which suits a traditional or Mediterranean deck. Limestone is brushed smooth and far more uniform, which is what to specify when the client wants a calm, consistent field. Country Classic is the closest beige to Ivory travertine and the two are often used together, field in one and border in the other.

Sizes and layouts

• 16x16 and 12x12 for paths, courtyards and small patios.
• 16x24 for pool decks in a one-third offset, the most forgiving layout on imperfect grade.
• 24x24 for a clean modern grid, and the size most often ordered outright.
• 24x36 and 24x48 for a long plank look with fewer joints.
• 36x36 for large-format terraces, heavy enough to be a two-person set.

Beige is also the base color of many French pattern sets, which combine four sizes into one repeating layout and cut well around curves.

Why beige over ivory

Ivory and white can glare at midday and show every leaf stain. Beige takes the edge off both without going dark enough to get hot. It also sits more comfortably against warm-toned house materials, brick, stucco, cedar and tan siding, where a true white deck can look disconnected. Against cool gray stone or a white house, ivory usually wins. Ordering a sample of one from each family and setting them side by side in the actual sun is the only reliable way to decide.

Thickness and ordering

1-1/4" for mortar-set over a slab, 2" for sand-set decks, driveways and freeze-thaw climates. Porcelain in beige is 3/4" and sits flush with 2" stone on a pedestal system. Order a sample and check it wet as well as dry, since beige limestone in particular darkens noticeably. Pavers ship by the pallet on LTL freight, with coverage listed on each product page.
